Hey, I'm a lot like you...I need to lose weight. Started at 332 last year and my goal is 190-200.

Since we're in this together, I'm asking for an agreement. J Whit...

Thanks so much. My weight goal is for Feb. Each month I'm striving for a lower weight. This is the only way that I can do it. Pictures will be up in about 9 months. I can't wait either.

I am very happy and satisfied with my life. I am losing weight, my relationships are improving (my increased happiness??) and I am getting very healthy. Very healthy...

While a fencer and basketball player in high school, I was a size 34 pants, 183 pounds and had a great resting heart rate. My heart rate was somewhere in the very low 50's during my peak in 1979 (28 years ago!).

I took my resting heart rate this morning. It is 54-57 (took it about 5 times to make sure). I am on my way and never looking back.

Picked up a pair of straight leg jeans size 44. It's been about 12 years since I've been that size. My wife goosed me the other day in public. I think this weight loss thing is working!! On with the goosing!

Jessie,

Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment. I am doing well! (Hey, great affirmation!).

Happy valley was a little too happy for me back in 1983-87.

I went to a 70th birthday party today and man...so much food!

BUT, I did fine. Surprisingly, I didn't want to binge. I had chicken, water and diet soda and kept catching myself reaching for more, but stopped in time. I'm learning food maturity...Great job...I feel great and worked out twice to really burn off the party food.

I woke up today feeling very energized at 5:30 am. My back is feeling a lot more flexible and less stressed. I really think that the biking is helping with the synovial fluid in my spine and joints.

Just chugging along. Really enjoying the sugar free preserves and cottage cheese.

I had a funky workout today at the gym. After about 35 minutes on the elliptical, I got light headed and headed home. I rested, ate some complex carbs and then went for a bike ride about 7:30. I feel OK. I didn't eat enough today, I know that. This was a silly and ignorant thing on my part.

I have began working out at 9pm for the last 3 evenings. This really seems to keep my metabolism up during my sleeping hours. I do find though, that when I return home around 11pm, I am very alert and it is hard to get to sleep. I'll keep tabs on this and probably switch back to early AM workouts within the week.

I've just done an awesome thing I really KNOW that this will change my thinking. I can really relate to 6 pounds by the end of the year rather than 100 in a year - it's such a loosey goosey type of number/scenario with too much play and little accountability. I've said this on my blog, podcast and NOW I"m finally practiciing what I preach. My goal is to lose 6 pounds by the end of the year. Each month, there will be a 10 at the beginning of the month. Day by day, I'll watch the countdown. VERY INSPIRING!

My first day here. Thanks to a listener of my podcast, I found this place. I have ONE thing to write. If I can attempt to lose over 100 lbs., then anybody should be able to get motivated. I used to have high tryglicerides, cholesterol and BP, now...NONE of that!! I have a lot of support to GIVE and hopefully will receive same. Success to all and lets do this!! Please feel free to listen to my journal podcast and blog where I hope to inspire people with my stories updates, and workout mixes.

Peace...

More About Dave
Hey, I'm a lot like you...I need to lose weight. Started at 332 last year and my goal is 190-200.

Do we have a deal? (Handshake and a pat on the back!)

My podcast/blog is really just a way for me to remain accountable for my weekly progress and for once and for all change my life FOREVER.

I hope that I didn't bore you, but a profile (to me) is something that you can read, understand where I'm coming from and hopefully have a good, clear mental snapshot as to who is behind the typing.

I hope to help as much as possible as well as get valuable tips and support from this site. Thanks for reading and I hope that you'll come to me when you need motivation or a little kick to get you going. Man, my fingers hurt. My goal weight is per month, NOT the overall goal. I find that monthly goals are a lot more motivating and recognizable rather than saying "I need to lose 90 pounds or so".

Each month, my goal will change. BTW, my monthly goal is at least 8 pounds loss.

Peace and lets get going!
